As construction manager and general contractor, GNP expanded the world-famous Billy Goat Tavern in Chicago. Improvements to this popular downtown eatery and bar––immortalized by a 1978 Saturday Night Live “Cheezborger” sketch featuring John Belushi and Dan Aykroyd––included fit and finish improvements, an all-new event space adjacent to the original tavern and mechanical, electrical, plumbing and fire protection systems, ADA-compliant restrooms, and kitchen additions.
The nearly one-million-dollar expansion and improvements were completed while maintaining the existing character and aesthetics of the eatery frequented by tourists and locals. Work adhered to a strict timeline, ensuring completion within three months to minimize the time the tavern was closed and allow for re-opening in time for Chicago’s popular St. Patrick’s Day celebration.
