Successful 5-ton rooftop HVAC replacement

Speedy turnaround time minimizes business disruption

GNP’s maintenance arm, Chicago Management Personnel Services (CMPS), came to a timely rescue when the heat exchanger failed at the Mario Tricoci cosmetology and esthetician school in Libertyville, Ill., just days before the temperatures in the Chicago metro area plummeted into an extended deep freeze in January 2025.

CMPS became the school’s HVAC contractor after acquiring a boutique heating and cooling firm in late 2024. After receiving the “no heat” call on a Friday afternoon and confirming the five-ton rooftop unit needed replacing, CMPS quickly located a replacement unit.

On Monday morning, with the aid of a rented crane, CMPS’ HVAC specialists removed the failed unit and installed the new one, ensuring a comfortable learning environment for the school’s students—all in one day and less than a week before the subzero temps would have made the school’s operations impossible.
